Job description:

We are seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and dynamic Community Relations Manager to join our senior living community team. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the move-in and move-out process, fostering positive relationships with residents and their families, and driving marketing and sales initiatives to maintain occupancy levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior living or healthcare, with a passion for delivering exceptional service and care.

Education/Experience:

Post-secondary education in business administration, public relations, communications, marketing, health services or social sciences.

Equivalent experience in community outreach, community engagement or volunteer management may be considered.

Experience or skills in leadership and management, hospitality or the retirement industry is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

Move-In/Move-Out Coordination

Serve as the primary point of contact for new residents and their families throughout the move-in and move-out processes.
Coordinate logistics, paperwork, room readiness, and welcome protocols to ensure a smooth transition.
Work with internal departments (nursing, maintenance, dining, housekeeping) to prepare for new arrivals or departures.
Conduct exit interviews and manage feedback to improve the resident experience.

Community Relations & Resident Engagement

Build strong relationships with residents, families, and the local community.
Address resident and family concerns with empathy and efficiency.
Represent the community at outreach events and maintain a positive public image.

Marketing & Sales

Develops and implements an external communications and marketing strategy that increases CVF engagement with the communities of Medicine Hat, Redcliff, and Cypress County.
Conduct tours for prospective residents and their families, effectively presenting the benefits of the community.
Leads CVF efforts to improve community relations, increasing public awareness and supporting a positive reputation in the wider community.
Achieve occupancy goals through strategic sales efforts and relationship-building.

Position Title:​​ Maintenance Manager

Reports to:​​ Chief Administrative Officer

Department:​​ Management

 

Nature and Scope:

This position directly reports to the CAO and closely works with the Managers and Supervisors throughout Cypress View Foundation.  The role entails a high level of interaction with staff, attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The Facility Operations Manager runs the day-to-day maintenance and project work. This position manages and oversees all contract and procurement processes related to facility operations. This position involves extensive liaison with Management, Supervisors, and staff.

 

Facility Operations:

  • Manages all maintenance and grounds operations and staff daily.
  • Manages and coordinates the daily operations of the Project Workers.
  • Is responsible for all construction project management including both internal and contracted services.
  • Is responsible for all contract and tender opportunities (both internal and external).
  • Manages all electronic communications infrastructure.
  • Handles procurement and contract management including grants and reporting.
  • Is responsible for all facility infrastructure inspections and permitting.
  • Is responsible for regular departmental meetings.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensures compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
  • Promotes a culture of employee safety.
  • Ensures all employees have the support and education to be compliant with Health & Safety.
  • Management will take responsibility for providing leadership in the Health and Safety Program.
  • Managers will be held accountable for the health and safety of all employees under their position.

 

Organizational Support:

  • Involvement in developing departmental policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all OHS and infection control practices and procedures
  • Pursue continual learning by participating in educational opportunities, in-services and/or training programs
  • Maintain confidentiality of issues related to residents, employee matters and CVF information
  • Commit to supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of CVF
  • Assist with the development and implementation of promotional activities and programs to support revenue generated in all outlets
  • Assist Management in establishing, implementing, and monitoring standards of service and operation
  • Ensure communication and compliance of facilities responsibilities in the event of an emergency as outlined in Emergency Preparedness Binder to ensure resident, visitor and staff safety
  • Ensure that the operational budget is adhered to, and all costs are controlled
  • Assist with new hires when requested by management by assisting new employees with forms completion, identification, and scheduling processes
  • Adept at written and oral communication with internal and external suppliers/customers
  • Initiating new contracts for services and/or products
  • Well organized and excellent attention to detail
  • Working shifts as business levels dictate

Required Experience/Skills

  • Management/Supervisory experience
  • Prior experience with Procurement and Contract management
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Code, Act and Legislation

Education

  • Project management experience 2-5 years
  • Contract and procurement management 2-5 years would be an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • A thorough knowledge of Accommodation Standards would be an asset
  • Knowledge of fire safety, building security, WHMIS, OH&S and infection control
  • Background and experience in leading a multidisciplined team
  • Trade certificate in Plumbing or related trade is an asset
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance and development
