Live Well,
Stay Active.

Services and Amenities

We believe that life enrichment should encompass all dimensions of wellness: emotional, social, spiritual, educational, and physical. Our diverse activities cater to your individual needs and preferences, allowing you to choose how you want to spend your time.

Care and Support Staff

Our dedicated care and support staff are the heart of Cypress View Foundation. They are committed to providing compassionate and professional care to all residents. Our team includes one-site Healthcare Aids, Housekeeping Staff, Activity Coordinators, Maintenance Team, and Administrative Staff.

Church Services

Held in our on-site chapel and led by local church representatives, our church services offer a peaceful and spiritual experience. These services provide an opportunity for reflection, worship, and community connection. All residents are welcome to attend, regardless of their faith background, fostering a sense of inclusivity and support.

Pet Therapy

Engage with friendly cats adopted from the Medicine Hat SPCA in our pet therapy room. Pet therapy sessions are designed to bring joy and comfort to residents, offering the therapeutic benefits of interacting with animals. These furry friends provide companionship, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.

Interactive Programs

Enhance your social activity and well-being with our interactive programs, including Drum Circle, Musical Bells, Laughter Yoga, and Java Music Club. These programs are designed to promote physical health, mental stimulation, and social connection. Musical Bells and Drum Circle offer a rhythmic and energetic experience, Laughter Yoga combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing, and Java Music Club provides a space to enjoy and discuss music. Each program is a fun and engaging way to stay active and connected.

Gardening Group

Participate in gardening activities with raised beds for easy access. Our Gardening Group allows you to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening without the strain. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a beginner, you’ll find joy in planting, nurturing, and harvesting a variety of plants. It’s a wonderful way to connect with nature and fellow gardening enthusiasts.

Sewing Group

Share your talents and create beautiful handmade pieces in our Sewing Group. This activity is perfect for those who enjoy sewing, quilting, or crafting. Bring your projects and ideas, and work alongside other creative residents. It’s a great way to learn new techniques, share tips, and produce lovely items for yourself or as gifts.

Community Volunteers

Our community thrives thanks to the dedication of over 40 “in-house” volunteers, making up a quarter of our residents. These volunteers enrich both their own lives and those they assist by contributing in various meaningful ways. They work in the tuck shop, help organize and run activities, assist with decorating for special occasions, and participate in gardening projects. Additionally, our volunteers are actively involved in Resident Club programs, the Resident Council, and the coordination of our community library.

Live Music

Dance your evenings and weekends away or simply enjoy listening to the 20+ volunteer bands who regularly perform at Cypress View Foundation, playing a mix of country classics and rock-n-roll. Our community also enjoys performances from the Veiner Centre Singers, The Veiner Liners (line dancers), and seasonal concerts by local elementary schools and music students.

Guest Speakers

Throughout the year, we host a variety of informative speakers who present on topics important to our residents. These presentations cover essential subjects such as SCAM prevention, balance and senior health, diabetes management, walker and wheelchair safety, pharmacy discussions, senior benefits, and special transit services provided by the City of Medicine Hat. These sessions are designed to keep our community informed, safe, and healthy.

Healthy Living and Exercise

Exercise is known to have a positive effect on cognitive functioning and mental health. It can help you fight boredom and depression, and maintain personal happiness. At Cypress View Foundation, we offer a variety of programs and facilities to keep you active and engaged.

Exercise Room

Our spacious exercise room, with its stunning view overlooking the city, makes it hard to resist riding the recumbent bikes or taking a walk on one of the treadmills. Weights of various sizes and resistance bands are also provided for those who enjoy strengthening exercises.

With your doctor’s permission and an orientation to the exercise room, residents are welcome to use the facility by signing out the key at reception.

Cypress View Foundation staff provide surveillance of the room, and for added safety, an emergency pendant is available for you to wear while exercising.
