Cypress View Foundation Funding Information

Lodge Accommodations

Municipal Funding - Municipalities contribute to the lodge operation through the requisition process. Municipalities are requisitioned proportionately on the basis of their equalized assessment. Requisitions are determined by the Board of Directors annually through the budget process. Municipalities contribute about 21% towards the lodge operation.

Provincial Funding - The province funding a resident per day for all residents whose income is below a defined amount. The province contributes about 12% towards the lodge operation.

Room & Board and Misc. - The bulk of funding comes through the room and board charged to residents and makes up about 57% of the lodge revenue. Miscellaneous revenue makes up about 10% of the revenue.

Self-Contained Apartments

Normally the rent and other revenues cover the costs for the apartments. The province approves the budget and pays for any costs such as major building repair.
